Patterning is a word Adi Da Samraj uses to describe the mechanical nature of conditional existence. Conditional nature has been described as an infinitely complex and incomprehensible system of patterns that move mechanically through time and space, ultimately without any purpose or intelligence, only continuation, repetition, shift and change. In this talk Adi Da is pointing out that without real intelligence these patterns are just suffered and repeated over and over again in limitation, like being chained to a perpetual motion machine.
This realm of opposites happening, patterning, is not exactly user-friendly. You have to be very intelligently involved with it, because it’s not really friendly to anything.
